Celebrate the flavors of Appalachia this summer at Elderwild at the Gorge with a one-night-only five-course farm-to-table dining experience inspired by the region’s seasonal harvest.

The menu showcases the best of summer produce, beginning with Heirloom Tomato Carpaccio topped with pickled green bean relish, whipped goat cheese, fresh basil oil, and crispy cornbread crumble. Guests will then enjoy Grilled Zucchini and Pattypan Squash, paired with sweet corn purée, earthy chicken of the woods mushrooms, and a rich black walnut romesco that highlights ingredients deeply rooted in Appalachian cuisine.

A refreshing Chilled Peach & Heirloom Tomato Gazpacho follows, featuring fresh herbs and pickled pepper oil that balance the sweetness of ripe Kentucky peaches and garden tomatoes. The evening’s main course, Blueberry Sorghum-Glazed Grilled Pork Tenderloin, celebrates regional flavors with a glaze made from Appalachian sorghum and summer blueberries, accompanied by creamed Silver Queen corn and roasted okra seasoned with smoked paprika.

To conclude the experience, guests will enjoy a Strawberry Rhubarb Tart finished with honey whipped cream and an aged balsamic garnish, showcasing two classic summer ingredients often found in Appalachian gardens and preserves.

Each course is thoughtfully paired with curated wines, bourbon, or dessert beverages, creating a dining experience that highlights the connection between local ingredients, seasonal harvests, and Appalachian traditions.

Set among the scenic beauty of Red River Gorge, the Appalachian Summer Harvest Dinner offers an unforgettable evening of exceptional cuisine, curated pairings, and community around the table. Join us on July 31 and experience the tastes of an Appalachian summer harvest 🌿🍅🥂🍑
